Reconciled

Something to think about…
Faith is essential to our Christian walk. We are saved by grace through faith; we are also justified through our faith in Christ. Have you ever pondered: what does this mean? It simply means, “we believe, and accept God’s plan to restore us back to him!” It means we realize, through sin, humanity had lost the relationship with its Creator. As our Creator, he made us in his image and in his likeness so we could enjoy fellowship with him. Remember, our purpose is to know God, and make him known.
However, we all chose to go our own way; walking independently from God, we went in pursuit of what we thought would bring us lasting satisfaction. Even though we chose to live our lives for ourselves, God never stopped loving us and desiring to bring us back to himself. In fact, he had a plan to restore us.
This plan is succinctly explained in 2 Corinthians 5:19a: “… God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them.” We couldn’t behave well enough to merit a relationship with God for all eternity (eternal life). What we needed was our sin gone forever! Christ accomplished this on our behalf, by taking the punishment for our own sin upon himself.
Our faith says: we believe we have been reconciled with God, since he no longer counts our sin against us!

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for restoring me back to you. I choose you, I choose to believe you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
